After three days in the woods, today we ventured into town. I went and got a massage and explored the yarn store…then we went to the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough to see what they had up for sale. A lot of artists that I’ve written about I discovered at the SAC but today I came across Frankie Brackley Tolman for the first time. They had two of her little works up.
I love her view of houses. She works in “watermedia” which I’m not quite sure what it is but it appears she works in mostly watercolor and acrylic.
The saturated colors are great and so are the more general shapes, without too much definition.
I would like a really big one of the above works, “Mill Town,” though this one is 28 x 36…the ones I saw today were tiny so I guess I’m not sure how these would look in a large format.
Nice pics for a snowy day here in NH.
