I couldn’t stop myself from continuing to explore the Fashioning Felt artists – I have to share Ursula Suter’s work.
All I can think is that my surface design professor in college would have been blown away by these pieces.
All of these pieces are from her Cooper-Hewitt exhibit.
Close up – the light behind it is amazing.
On Ursula’s site she says that she has developed her own techniques for creating the various textures.
Another close up – looks sort of shell like or a clam.
I’m not sure if she intends for these to be used as scarves or what – but they’re amazing – close up below.
While I love the off white pieces this red one, which Ursula lists just as a big object, is pretty awesome too.
There are so many works of hers to share I may have to do this one in installments!
