I learned about Amy Helfand today via Apartment Therapy and fell in love with her carpets. Amy is originally from Chicago but now lives and works in Brooklyn.
I love how topographical some of her works are – both her prints and her newer rug works. The one above is called Trail Runner and it’s easy, I think, to see what she was getting at.
Having flown into New York late last night and seen all the patterns of the suburbs I was flying over these really struck a chord with me today. The one above is called Wave Hill/Gravetye Path Network.
I wish the one above was a carpet too – I love the little dots making a trail, it reminds me of breadcrumb trail!
Love this color – Amy calls it Peony – my favorite flower family. The rugs are woven out of Tibetan wool and Chinese silk.
A mum’s rug – so pretty – great colors!
Really I love them all.
