I’m definitely late to the party on this one but I newly am a fan of Thomas Paul and his designs on all types of objects from pillows to shawls to lampshades.
I want the shawl above, which is in grey though it comes in other colors. Thomas prints and weaves his designs, this being an octopus, on various materials with different costs, this one, in baby alpaca is my favorite. While I’m in Florida now for work, this would certainly keep me warm in snowy Boston!
Another shawl photo above – I’m thinking I may ask for this for Valentine’s Day, which is right around the corner. On a separate note, it’s killing me not to share what I bought my boyfriend but that would give it away – it’s an Etsy find of course – I’ll share if after Feb 14!
As I’m down in Boca Raton this week, shells and the beach are on my mind. This textile pattern by Thomas, above, is great not only because of the detail of the shell but also the color of the printing. There seem to be many more subtle colors in Thomas’ palette so this vibrant teal is really interesting.
The moby dick pillow above is fabulous. It looks vintage / tea stained and the exhaustion in the animal’s face is terrific. I could see this in my dad’s office though I’m not sure how he feels about whales.
Stuck in the Boston airport yesterday I was watching CNN, they did a special about puffer fish and how to cook them properly to be safe. I like the idea of such a dangerous little creature – both outside and in – being displayed on such a cushy item in a non-invasive color. Might need one of these too!
