I’m rapidly realizing that I’m into papercutting. It takes the ability to visualize parts becoming a whole and I’m really into that kind of foresight and the people that have that ability — it’s one I lack. Crafterall is a store by Marnie from Minnesota – her topographical paper cuts and nature-related ones are awesome.
She makes many of these sort of underwater looking ones in many shades of teal, some she does in red, browns, etc.
I love her poppies — they’re so modern but yet with the color and shape you can still recognize the flower.
As someone who is into being Green, Marnie uses both the cut out and the reverse in this piece — they’re both beautiful — I don’t know which I like better, the negative or the positive.
The gradations of color give so much great depth, however, the piece below, devoid of those color changes is equally interesting visually.
