Since I was five years old we’ve had our house in New Hampshire. Over the years my parents have made a few friends in the neighborhood – more since they’ve been up there fulltime. One of the families we’ve always been close to was the Reid family. Chris Reid, the mom, is an amazing pastel who artist, who, along with her dogs, used my mother’s gardens for her inspiration for many of her works. I often saw her set up in our meadows working away on a fabulous piece.

In the last few years Chris’ work has become increasingly abstract and on that very same studio tour that I went on last Fall my parents purchased a large one of her seascapes for my apartment as well – technically I’m just holding it for them! I wake up every morning and see her beautiful work done over the her summers in Nantucket and wanted to share a few of her pieces here.
